Deputy Blake Liscomb is the K-9 Officer in Lawrence County, along with his partner “Ben”. Ben, born in Germany and trained in both Germany and Miami Florida has the ability to smell or detect drugs inside vehicles, homes or on persons at a rate of more than 5000 times that of a human. Ben is also trained in the German language.
Along with their regular patrol, Deputy Liscomb and Ben also work with schools during “Red Ribbon Week” each year. Red Ribbon Week is celebrated in October in schools across the nation to support students making healthy choices, being positive role models and not to use illegal drugs or the illegal use of legal drugs.
